⭐️ Some Good News: Perimenopause Power + Summer Camps

Girl Power Science News

Happy Full Moon from Girl Power Science 🌕

I have some great news to balance out all of the nauseating news out there.

Our “Perimenopause Power” parent education event at Lick-Wilmerding High School was a huge success! I had the honor of being part of an incredible panel of experts. What made it extra special is that we’re all moms who originally met years ago at The Hamlin School for Girls, when I taught their daughters back in the day.

Our powerhouse panel included:
Dr. Kim Garfinkel, OB/GYN
T Dyer and Carrie Kostiner, co-founders of UPELLE
✨ And me

We met multiple times to plan the presentation (each meeting well over two hours!), and the response was incredible. 145 parents registered and submitted over 30 thoughtful questions, which fell into three main categories:

• What to expect: ages, stages, and signs of perimenopause
• Lifestyle recommendations
• Hormone replacement therapy

Our talk focused on these three areas, and the gratitude made it very clear: this information is empowering, necessary, and long overdue.

Here’s what parents had to say:

“Wow, this has been fantastic. Thank you for the huge amount of work you put into this. So thoughtful, concise, and you’re all obviously fabulous!”
“Thank you so much for this presentation. It has been incredibly helpful—rich with facts and so compassionately put across.”

Happy New Moon, My inbox has been full this week with so many amazing moms asking for workshops before everyone heads off on summer adventures. I hear you. This time of year is a big transition for our daughters (and for us), and it’s worth supporting them with the tools they need before everything shifts. I’m offering the four topics moms are requesting the most and a bundle deal (save $50) when you register for both kids workshops. Feel free to email me at here if you have any questions. Go...

Happy Pink Full Moon, Our popular Girl & Grown-Up "Period Power" workshop is back on April 25th as well as our virtual "Pause Power" workshop on April 22nd. There’s something I keep noticing lately, in my students, in my daughter, and honestly… in myself too. Sleep deprivation. Our body literacy classes always begin with a check-in and a chance for students to draw a picture of their "inner weather report" in their journal. One of my students said they noticed a pattern. "I am always tired!"...

Happy Spring Equinox! My daughter turned 15 yesterday. And surprisingly…the hardest part wasn’t the cake, the guest list, or even the emotions. It was her wishlist. Think: itsy bitsy teeny weeny crop tops and micro skirts. The kind of clothes that make you pause as a parent—not because they’re “wrong,” but because they raise bigger questions. Just last week, after my talk at Burkes School (“Girl Power: Building Body Resilience”), a mom asked me: “How do you balance letting girls wear what they...
